2021 and Beyond

Hi All,

As I am sitting here writing this, we are now well into 2021, after one of the most trying years of all time. From the Coronavirus and global lockdowns, social/racial unrest and wildfires, to unemployment and political divisiveness, 2020 has truly been one for the record books.  The collective consciousness has had a year of deep suffering but within our darkest days, our true purpose and meaning can be discovered.  The “universal reset” we have all been forced into may have been exactly what we needed as a human race.  Time to slow down, spend quality time with our families, pick up new hobbies, rediscover old ones and give Mother Nature a moment to breath.  There is no light without darkness, no good without bad.  Our lives are a constant reminder of the balance of opposites.

For me personally, I had wanted to launch a project around my 10 year Zen practice for a while and this year proved to be the right time, despite all of the challenges.  I started with shooting a video of my little quiet life in Topanga and that lead to building a website, filming a podcast and the beginning foundation of a business built around meditation and mindfulness.  I had no idea what kind of response I would get and if anyone would even care, but I was pleasantly surprised.  I discovered that there were a lot of people in my community that were curious about meditation and wanted to learn how to quiet their minds and find some stillness amongst all of this confusion and chaos.  What better time than now to start a mindfulness practice?

I feel very fortunate to have finally found my true calling, after many years of grinding in the business world, trying to make a living and keep a roof over my head.  I have learned a lot over the years, met amazing people, developed friendships that will last a lifetime but most importantly, I made a conscious decision to be a conduit to a lifestyle that has helped me more than words can express.  A lifestyle that is intertwined with everything I do and continues to amaze and astonish me day after day.

So, as we put 2020 in the rear view mirror, I want to thank you all for being on this journey with me, for showing interest and believing in me, in us.  We have the seed within all of us to cultivate our most compassionate and patient hearts.  We have the ability to slow down our breath and minds, giving ourselves those crucial moments of pause and reflection, that allows us to proceed with grace, balance and consistency.

Thank you all so very much and I look forward to seeing you on the flip side.
